Clam Box in Quincy

A tradition I have been doing for years. This place is one of my favorites!

Came from Michigan to visit and stopped by here and it was long line but worth it. Line didn't stay it keep moving and quick orders. Food was fresh n hot. And good worth of money. Platters can share with 2 or 3 people.

Amazing local seafood, always fresh and tasty! Highly recommend this place!

The outdoor seating was great. Far enough from the street that you don't smell the echaust from the cars

A Quincy tradition, with fresh seafood. I recommend doing a three-way.

Ordered the shrimp plate with fries and onion rings. Shrimp was decent. Onion rings and fries had no flavor.

My clam got pounded at this place. Tartar sauce everywhere. Good fries :)

Fresh seafood! Good sized portions & the onion rings are really good. I haven't had a bad dish yet. The COVID-19 ordering system is good also. The wait isn't bad. They are dining in as well.

Excellent big belly clams, onion rings and fresh cuts fries! You can tell the change their oil often.

The food is pretty good, they sell alot of what you would expect at a beach side restaurant: fried fish, fries, clam chowder, etc. When I was there there was a huge line extending out into the sidewalk and it took a while to get our food. I would definitely want to go at least one more time, hopefully on a less busy day but such a time might not exist.

I don’t think you can even call this seafood. Ordered French fries, they were barley even cooked. The lobster roll tasted like a piece of rubber and sauce that was on top was one of the worst I have tasted. Over priced for two rolls and small fry. If considering seafood, I would consider somewhere else

Loved it... Very casual place. Prices are good. Plates piled high. Very accommodating... Outside or inside seating... No wait people i enjoyed the food a whole lot. The beach ac ross from the clam box is a beautiful sight.

The lobster roll is amazing. We're going to be back

The best fried whole belly clams you can get in Massachusetts. The clams are nearly twice the size of other restaurants if you go during the summer between June and July. Don’t go when they open or towards the end of the season in October. The clams are very small then. Portions are big usually, although it seems as though it has gotten smaller recently. Fish and chips, as well as the seafood platter are great deals as well compared to legal seafoods and other restaurants.

The staff and the service agree very friendly very nice but for the price of the food the quality could be a lot better

Not worth the money. We got the fried clams and the fried fish plate and unfortunately everything was really bad. There was total lack of seasoning and we only got one teensy salt packet, so we couldn't even fix it ourselves. Both the fish and clams were greasy (not a good fry job), and the clams did not seem like they were freshly fried - more like they were scooped from a pile of already fried clams. Even the tartar sauce was unredeemable; it tasted like they mixed overly sweet relish in with mayo and it actually made the seafood taste worse.Definitely feel like we wasted a lot of money on this very disappointing meal.

Always a visit when in Massachusetts. Absolutely the best Ipswich fried clams never go past it without stopping.

Love the food here. Nice sized portions pay a little more because of location. They are doing very good with social distance and keeping the line moving!!! I felt safe from the beginning! Do bring your own pen to sign receipt;)

Generous portions, well prepared, tasty food and good customer service.

I had the seafood platter which I hope gave me good insight to the spectrum of offers. The fried food was a bit too fatty for me and by that the individual products lost their own character. So all tasted more or less the same with varying consistencies. The fries were just soggy and plain. All in all it was OK-to-almost-good, but not extraordinary,so not worth 5 stars. When you're on the beach, it probably is a good snack.

So overall I think the food was good. But the fish and chips meal need more fish. They pile on the fries and give you way too little fish for what you pay for. Maybe I need to just get the stand-alone fish and chips meal and not the combo with the slaw. Other than that I did enjoy my time there.

They dont answer their phone, and the lines are too long for elderly and disabled patrons.

They're famous for a reason! It's also a plus that the staff is amazing!

Fried Whole Clam Belly Plate, with cole slaw and fries. The fried clam bellies were excellent, not overly fried or saturated in batter, still taste the clams! A good size meal that will fill you.

The food here is absolutely delicious, BUT don’t go on a holiday like Mother’s Day. They take their time and call one number about every 8 minutes. Took about two hours to get our food from the time we got in line. I think they were trying to make it look like they were more popular that day than they actually were. They weren’t nearly as busy as on a regular summer day, but definitely a heck of a lot slower. Low # of stars is because of the terrible service.

It has been better, this is the first time that that I am saying this because usually the food tastes great.

The lobster meat over flow out of the sandwich bread. So much lobster meat! Loving the place but the wait line was long because it was a Saturday with nice weather.

Yo this place is the business my mom, and I really enjoyed ourselves here. They have a free refill soda, and tea station, and the staff is really friendly as well, and their 2-way combo plate in which I got the shrimp, and scallops were fried to perfect, and not overly greasy. Their onion rings were also made to perfection...

We love hanging out. Last night we came to this superb place which friends recommended to us. We had a lovely experience there with high-qulity meal and a courteous stuff and an impressive cook. We put this fine restaurant in our phone list and we will no doubt return soon. We warmly recommend.
